Dynasty Four is a Canadian indie garage rock band that knows how to bring the noise. Founded by Nikkole and Andrew Couture, who’ve rocked out together in several bands before, this duo has perfected their sound with a mix of raucous energy, blending garage rock grit with pop-punk vibes. The name Dynasty Four? That’s a nod to Nikkole’s fascination with Egyptology—specifically, the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt. Pretty cool, right?
Based in Toronto and jamming since 2012, Dynasty Four is the kind of band you’ll vibe with if you’re into The Bangles or The Sounds. Their track "Queen of the Hipsters" is the pop-punk anthem you didn’t know you needed, fresh off their new EP Revisions. With campy, tongue-in-cheek lyrics like "Do you want to be a broken-hearted hipster queen?" this song totally nails that playful, nostalgic 90s vibe. Seriously, if we could time travel and drop this track into a movie like Clueless or Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, it’d blend in perfectly.
So, do yourself a favor and hit play on "Queen of the Hipsters" from Revisions—it’s a total must-listen. I've listened to it a dozen times already! And honestly, it’s only a matter of time before this jam pops up in a TV show or movie. Get on it now, so you can say you were in the know before everyone else!
