Goddamn Wolves, an indie rock trio hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, has been shaking up the local music scene since 2018. The band is led by Chris Weilding (formerly of Hedwig and the Angry Inch band Cheater) on vocals and guitar, with Laura McCullough on bass and Drew Foglia on drums. What instantly grabs you is the way Chris and Laura’s voices blend together—it keeps you hooked.

Now, let’s talk about their latest single, Barricades Are Overrun. If you’re like me, you’ll find yourself humming the chorus—“It should be so easy to let it go now”—all day long. Seriously, this song has that perfect blend of gritty indie rock and catchy pop sensibility. The verses build up with an infectious energy that explodes into a chorus that’s just pure feel-good vibes. I couldn’t help but bop my head and smile the whole time I was listening.

If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and check out Barricades Are Overrun. It’s the kind of song that sticks with you—in the best possible way. Whether you’re a long-time fan of indie rock or just looking for something new to add to your playlist, Goddamn Wolves should be on your radar. Give Barricades Are Overrun a listen—you’ll love it.
